A Palpable Passion for Gin ~ Bobby Gin Barcelona
I love gin!
I love gin martinis, I love gin & tonics, and I especially love innovative gin cocktails.
When we were planning our visit to Barcelona this past April (2025) Bobby Gin was not on my radar. Thankfully my lovely wife KC had read about this utterly delightful gin centric bar and knowing how much joy gin brings me, she added it to our itinerary.
I visited Bobby Gin twice during our 3 days in Barcelona and both times Javier Ladrón de Guevara was the gifted mixologist behind the bar and as a gin lover both visits were everything I could have hoped for!
Kinross Wild Berry Fruits Gin & Tonic
On my first visit (a Monday afternoon) I had a G&T from their “Signature Gin & Tonic” list – the Kinross Wild Berry Fruits. This G&T featured Kinross Berry Gin. Wow! This G & T was so damn good!
We were sitting in the back of Bobby Gin where they have a few tables and as soon as I took a sip of this incredibly refreshing G&T I wanted to be sitting somewhere outside in warm sunshine overlooking water – be it the ocean, or a lake, or a river. I still think about that G&T.
Ginfonk
During my second visit to Bobby Gin (late Tuesday evening) I enjoyed two cocktails from their “Ginfonk” List. They describe Ginfonk as “the evolution of Gin & Tonic – a new category between gin & tonic and cocktail”.
Nordes Ginfonk
I told Javier – the aforementioned fantastic bartender – that I was going to get the Kinross Exotic Fruits Ginfonk, and I asked him to suggest a second Ginfonk. Javier passionately said that I should get the Nordes Ginfonk – Nordés Gin, lemongrass, verbena spearmint, lemon juice, and Schweppes Matcha tea tonic water.
This gin cocktail was like nothing I have ever had. Complex and bold and yet all of the flavors worked so well together.
Kinross Exotic Fruits Ginfonk
I closed out my evening the with the Kinross Exotic Fruits Ginfonk – Kinross Tropic Gin with roasted pineapple, mango liqueur, lime juice, and Schweppes Heritage tonic water.
This was an extraordinary tropical gin cocktail. One of my favorite tropical resorts is Cayo Espanto and enjoying a Kinross Exotic Fruits Ginfonk while staying in the Casa Solana villa would be phenomenal.
Other Cocktails – When You Visit Bobby Gin
Please know that the drink menu at Bobby Gin does have a handful of cocktails that do not have gin in them, so if you unfortunately have friends who are not fans of gin joining you at Bobby Gin, they will have a few options to choose from including these three cocktails that caught my eye:
El Chingon – Tequila, chipotle liqueur, lapsang souchong tea, cocoa, citrus puree, fig jam, mandarin juice
Chowa Peruviana – Pisco, umeshu, green tea with jasmine, mandarin, and pineapple juices
The Dark Side of the Sour – Rye whiskey, after eight tea syrup, lemon, egg white, and aromatic bitter wine

Food – When You Visit Bobby Gin
They have a very limited selection of things to eat including potato chips, olives and similar items. Above is a photo showing what food items they were serving April 2025. Bottom line – go to Bobby Gin to enjoy great cocktails and head somewhere else to eat.
Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia – When You Visit Bobby Gin
Speaking of food, just a two-minute walk from Bobby Gin is a lovely neighborhood square – Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia. Ringing this square is a number of restaurants where you can enjoy a wonderful meal before or after having cocktails at Bobby Gin.
Alberto Pizarro
It is my understanding that acclaimed Spanish Bartender Alberto Pizarro is the one who created the cocktails at Bobby Gin.
I would love to record an episode of the Culinary Treasure Podcast with Alberto, and I would also love to record an episode of the Culinary Treasure Podcast with Javier the Bartender who made the stellar cocktails I enjoyed during my two visits to Bobby Gin.
That’s all I have for now – know this – If you like gin you need to get yourself to Bobby Gin!
Cheers,
